Happiness is a Warm Puppy

Ohhhh the inspiration for this layout is the wonderful timeless quote by Charles Shultz! I have previously scrapped this photo as part of a trio, but wanted to scrap it alone! The "oh so very yummy" Que Sera Sera papers from K&Company were perfect! Used with black Bazzill card stock the colors just jumped off the page. I fell in love with a sketch design by Julie Bonner and wanted to work with it! I think the best part of this layout is the fact that it is 99% paper & card stock..very little other materials.
The photo was doubled matted using background pink papers & black card stock. I used MSWord for the "happiness is" journaled frame. It was printed in repeated rows on the landscape setting... That way I had longer rows to work with. I cut the card stock to 8.5 x 11 & printed away. I adhered small jewels around the frame to separate the journaling. The title work is BasicGrey Sweets & was inked with Adirondack black alcohol ink! Quick & easy!

Using the Fiskar's effervescent border punch, I punched both sides to a wide orange strip & placed it under the photo. I then punched 2 strips for top & bottom & adhered it to the journaling strips. The flourishes are made from black card stock & a Sizzix flourish die. I attached a couple of them together to give it a flowing effect! The small flowers were made from the papers in layout & 2 sizes of a Retro punch..very simple! I attached them to the flourish to fill some holes!

I added a Making Memories butterfly clip to the upper corner just to add some interest to the otherwise empty section!
I used 4 colors of ink ink the layout. All papers were distressed with the similar color ink to cover the raw edges. I them went back & lightly distressed with Distress black soot. The following inks were used: Adirondack Wild Plum, Distress Spiced Marmalade, & Distress Shabby Shutters.
The large flowers were very simple & included layers punched from the Que Sera Sera papers & one layer pf a Prima Whisper flower. The paper layers were distressed & attached!
I slapped a jewel in the middle & wahhhlaaaa.... done!!
This was such a fun layout to do! I just love the papers as they are so easy to work with! Plus other that ink, a few jewels, and punches, everything is paper!
Thanks so much for visiting!!
:D
