THIS IS WHY

The inspiration for this layout was a sketch challenge at My Creative Scrapbook & hosted by Liz Qualman . OHHHH what a challenge this was! The challenge was for a masculine layout with NO FLOWERS *gulp* NO FLOWERS! Whew I almost passed out when I read that!! So I knew I was in for some struggles! I could not use any flourishes or swirls... that would lead to blooms!!
Let it be known, my hubby does not care for this photo! I captured the "toughy" in a gentle moment! When I seen the pic, I thought..." this is why I love you". It is true! Strong on the outside & soft on the inside!!
The layout was made using the yummy Marrakech line by BasicGrey & Bazzill black card stock.I double matted the pics & I distressed all raw edges of papers with Distress Ink-Black Soot & Broken China.

The title work is BasicGrey Sweets that were inked with Adirondack Alcohol black ink. It is the best way to quickly cover raw chip! Love them alcohol inks!

I made "sorta" inchies using a sheet of Marrakech that already had the designed squared. I distressed the edges with both the Distress Broken China blue & Black Soot to give the inchies a finished off appearance. I then mounted them on black card stock & adhered them to background on chipboard to give dimension. I then placed a jewel in the center of each inchie!
I made "this is why" on PC & printed it on card stock used in layout. I then adhered it to a journaling board & added some trim that was included in the BasicGrey Marrakech collection pack. I also trimmed small photos with the same Marrakech border sticker. A little bling was added to the printed paper layer. No flowers.... gotta have some bling!
I really enjoyed this challenge! I feel this layout is a bit of a change for me & I am happy with the outcome! Thanks so much for taking a peek!!! I appreciate it so very much!
