SoulMate

The inspiration for this layout is my sweet hubby! The pic was taken in Oct 2008 while we were in Las Vegas for our 30th Anniversary! ( Yes 30 years!!!!) We had a great time! He is truly my best friend & SoulMate! I did this layout for the Feb sketch challenge on My Creative Scrapbook, based on the great sketch by Liz Qualman. I only used 1 sheet of printed card stock from Basic Greys Urban Prairie collection. The rest was all Bazzill card stock.
The layered flowers were made with card stock from various hand punches. I distressed the blues card stock with Distress faded denim ink & the red card stock with Distress fired brick ink. The small flowers were made with the Retro punch & hand doodled. I added a button & gem for the center. The owl is a rub on from Maya Road that I placed on card stock & cut. Corner swirls were made using my Big Shot.
The large flourish is from Fancy Pants & was inked with Distress black soot. I scattered the flowers about the flourish to give it a vine-y feel! The paper was distressed with the faded denim ink. I doubled matted the photo & then added a punched edge using the Fiskars border punch.
This was a fun layout to do. I am not used to using sketches, so it was a bit of a challenge! Thanks so much for taking a peek! I appreciate it!!!
