Love Blooms

Hi Friends!
I was so honored to be asked by Pam Callaghan to be her Friday June 04 featured artist on her site Ideas for Scrapbookers !! How fun is that- I am thrilled to be a teenie part of such an awesome site!! I have this great photo of my Mom & Dad on their wedding day & I thought it was perfect for the beautiful summery Basic Grey " Green at Heart" papers. I LOVE BASIC GREY!!

As I was strolling through Pam’s templates, I was instantly drawn to her “Wreath Template”. I love the look to circular designs & knew that I wanted to work with this! I guess all the yard work & gardening has me seeing flowers everywhere & this is the direction I decided to go using the template.
I wanted to layer the papers & chose to print the flower/wreath in two sizes. The smaller is the original size & printed directly on the reverse side of the printed paper & the larger one was enlarged in Photo Shop Elements. This can also be done in any word processing, photo editing or drawing program. Such a simple thing as layering a template made this a quick yet attractive base for the layout!
I cut the center of the smaller flower, following the template pattern & layered the photo between the 2 sizes! I think it is important to mention the inking. I inked all edges with same 3 contrasting colors to bring the same feel to each layer. (In this case the inks are all Ranger Distress – Spiced Marmalade, Peeled Paint & Worn Lipstick). I could see the layout coming together!!

Details were all that remained! The addition of a few flowers, title work & swirls completed the layout with ease!
I have made these flowers before! Here is a link on how to make the blooms!

It was such a pleasure working with this template! As one who has not yet leapt into the electronic cutting machine market it was perfect, plus easy to work with! Thanks Pam for sharing your templates & sketches & thanks to all my friends for dropping by to visit!
